Supplies:
Paint Shop Pro 8 or
9 This was done in 9 but you can use 8
Graphic of your choice or use the one provided here
Mask – edge ripples (put this in your mask folder)
Filters: Italian
Editors Effects – Picture-In-Picture
Note: Unless otherwise
stated, add borders with any color not in your graphic.
I have also provided a cream pattern to assist in
not having to change the material pallet so frequently.
Open the cream pattern & minimize. Open the graphic
you want to use, Shift D to Duplicate then close your
original.
Magic Wand Settings for this tutorial:
1. Set up your material
pallet by selecting a light color from your graphic
(I used #5e7892) & a dark color (354b4d). Change
your foreground to gradient (foreground/background)
linear/angle 60/repeats 9)
2. Right Click on
Layer pallet & Add New Raster Layer. Make sure
this new layer is highlighted and flood fill with
the gradient. Staying on the same layer, Layers, Load/Save
Mask from disc. Scroll until you find the edge ripples
mask
Load mask with the following settings:
3. Highlight the Mask
Raster Layer, right click & delete.
4. Highlight Raster Layer 1 – Effects-3D-Drop
Shadow as follows:
5. Repeat the same Drop Shadow changing the V to -5
& H to -5.
6. Highlight the Group Layer, Right Click & Merge
All-Flatten
7. Image – Add 2 pixel border – Select
with Magic Wand, Flood Fill with dark color. Do Not
Deselect.
8. Selections –
Invert / Effects – Cutout with the following
settings:
9. Repeat Cutout changing
only the V to -5 and H to -5
Deselect
10. Change foreground to cream pattern by clicking
the pattern symbol in the
material pallet scrolling until you find it.
11. Image –
Add 5 pixel border – Select with Magic Wand
– Fill with cream pattern.
Do Not deselect
12. Effects-3D-Inner
Bevel as follows:
13. Deselect
14. Image-Add 2 pixel
border color 0d0d0d. Select with magic wand.
15. Image-Effects-3D-
Inner Bevel the same as before but changing the Width
to 4.
Deselect
16. Image –
Add Borders – 5 pixels. Select with magic wand
& flood fill with the
the light color. Keep Selected.
17. Effects-3D-Inner
Bevel as follows:
18. Deselect.
19. Image –
Add 10 pixel border. Select with magic wand –
Fill with Cream
Pattern. Keep Selected.
20. Image –
Effects – 3D Effects – Inner Bevel as
in Step 17. Keep Selected.
21. Selections –
Invert – Selections Modify – Contract
by 9 – Selections Invert –
Effects- Plugins – Italian Editor Effects –
Picture-In-Picture @186 Miscela
@138 Radio
22. Deselect
23. Shift D to duplicate
this image – Save! Do not close it after
saving.
24. On the new image
- Image – Effects – Plugins – Italian
Editor Effects – Picture-In-Picture with the
same settings as Step 21.
25. Activate the image
that was completed in Step 23. Make sure all layers
have
been merged . Image – Resize – 75% - Bicubic
– All Layers & Maintain Ratio
CHECKED. Copy & Paste this image into the center
of the Image you
completed in Step 24. Layers merge visible.
Resize to suit your
project. This is a long tutorial but hopefully, you
will find the results worth the effort.
